This is a spectacular late 19th-century Japanese Imari porcelain charger from the Meiji period, c.1890. Beautifully hand decorated in the traditional cobalt blue and iron red palette with floral motifs, touches of green and gilt detailing, finished with a striking scalloped rim.
The reverse is also decorated in underglaze blue, a lovely indication of the attention given to the piece. A wonderfully decorative antique, particularly impressive displayed on a stand or wall.
Excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. Measuring 33cm diameter.
