A charming set of antique English postal letter scales, featuring a brass balance mechanism mounted on a shaped wooden base and complete with their original graduated brass weights.
Dating to around the late Victorian / Edwardian period, c.1890–1910, these would once have been used to calculate postage by letter weight. A wonderfully characterful and decorative piece of English postal history.
